Event: "One World, One Dream" and Many Opinions: Freedom of Expression at the Beijing Olympics

Date: Thursday, July 24, 2008
Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm - Discussion
         7:30 - 8:30 pm - Reception

Location: New York City, New York
Venue: House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036

The Asian Affairs and International Human Rights Committees of the New York City Bar cordially invite you to a discussion:

China chose the slogan “One World, One Dream” (同一个世界同一个梦想) to express the common wishes of people all over the world to strive for a bright future. The looming question is how spectators, athletes, and journalists from around China and the world will be allowed to express their many, varied wishes and opinions, especially when they touch on politics, religion, and other sensitive topics. This panel will address an array of issues concerning freedom of expression and the upcoming Olympic games.
